The Meeting Filter

FILTER is a meeting intelligence skill, and it is explicitly not a meeting summarizer. It reads the meeting information your AI environment can already reach, works out what matters to you specifically, and surfaces only the items that genuinely deserve your attention. Returning “nothing requires your attention” is a valid and desirable answer.

Install this if

  • You sit in, or get notes from, more meetings than you can actually read.
  • Your notetaker produces summaries that are just a second thing to read.
  • The item that needed you got buried in the ninety percent that did not.

What it does

  1. Works from whatever meeting source is already authorized — a notetaker MCP, a connected service, cloud storage, a local folder, or notes you paste in. It does not require you to duplicate meeting notes into a new system.
  2. Applies the core equation: what happened × what matters to you = what deserves your attention.
  3. Suppresses routine status, implementation detail, completed admin work and FYIs with no consequence.
  4. Surfaces decisions waiting on you, blockers only you can remove, commitments made by or to you, and material changes to things you own.
  5. Labels each item DECISION, ACTION, UNBLOCK, AWARENESS or WATCH when the label adds something.
  6. Separates explicit fact from reasonable implication, and never invents an owner, deadline or commitment.
  7. Grows with you through four optional levels: FILTER, then MEMORY, then STATE, then INITIATIVE. Level 1 needs no setup, no profile file and no storage.

What it will not do

  • It can only see meeting sources your AI environment is already authorized to read. It will not connect anything for you, and it will tell you rather than pretend when no source is available.
  • Levels 2 to 4 need persistent storage or scheduled execution that your host may not have. The skill is written to say so plainly instead of claiming memory it does not have.
  • Saved briefs are filtered interpretations, not authoritative records. The original meeting source stays the source of truth.
